
Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang conducted an official visit to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jakarta on April 8, 2026, as part of its efforts to strengthen international networks and follow up on strategic cooperation in education and research.
UIN Malang delegation was represented by Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development Prof. Dr. H. M. Abdul Hamid, M.A, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Drs. Basri, M.A., Ph.D, and Head of the International Office Faridatun Nikmah, M.Pd. The visit specifically aimed to follow up on collaboration with the NL Knowledge House (NL KH) of the Netherlands operating in Indonesia.
During the meeting, the delegation engaged in discussions with Nanya Burkei, Director of Nuffic South East Asia, and Astrid, Communication & Events and NL Knowledge House Support Officer.
The discussion focused on strengthening and developing cooperation in three main areas: education, research, and overall social impact. This collaboration is expected to enhance academic quality, expand international collaborative research, and contribute meaningfully to social development.
The Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development of UIN Malang emphasized that partnerships with Dutch institutions, particularly through NL Knowledge House, play a strategic role in supporting the university’s internationalization agenda.
“This collaboration is not only academically oriented but also aims to create broader and sustainable social impact,” he stated. This aligns with UIN Malang’s vision as a Green Campus, which emphasizes sustainability and environmentally friendly practices across its operations.
Through this visit, UIN Malang reaffirms its commitment to expanding global partnerships while strengthening its position as a higher education institution actively engaged in international education and research networks.
