UIN Malang Visits Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, Strengthening Academic Diplomacy and Internationalization

Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang conducted an official visit to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Jakarta on April 8, 2026, as part of its strategic efforts to strengthen educational diplomacy and expand international cooperation opportunities.

UIN Malang delegation was led by Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development Prof. Dr. H. M. Abdul Hamid, M.A, accompanied by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Drs. Basri, M.A., Ph.D, and Head of the International Office Faridatun Nikmah, M.Pd.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Salma, Counselor of the Moroccan Embassy. The meeting took place in a cordial and interactive atmosphere, focusing on strengthening relations between higher education institutions and foreign diplomatic representatives.

The primary objective of the visit was to enhance diplomatic engagement between the university and the embassy, while also exploring potential collaborations with the Kingdom of Morocco to support the university’s internationalization agenda. Areas of potential cooperation discussed included academic partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, scholarship opportunities, as well as joint research and scientific activities.

The Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development of UIN Malang emphasized that the visit reflects the university’s commitment to expanding its global network and improving its international competitiveness. “Collaboration with partner countries such as Morocco is essential to enrich the academic experience of our academic community and strengthen UIN Malang’s position on the global stage,” he stated.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco responded positively to the initiative and expressed its openness to further follow up on the potential collaborations discussed. This visit is expected to serve as the beginning of a stronger and more sustainable institutional relationship between UIN Malang and various educational institutions in Morocco.
